The last two weeks at Living Hope Women’s Centers have been incredibly busy. Springerville is in the midst of a remodel to enlarge our ultrasound room and give us additional classroom space. Preparing for all the summer fundraisers takes time and energy. Our staff is made up of normal people, some of whom are dealing with difficult life issues: death of a loved one, unsaved children, financial problems, marriage rough spots. As we near week’s end, we might easily feel tired, discouraged and even ineffective.
Instead, we choose to focus on the things we are grateful for. Here is one of them:
This week a client come in for a pregnancy test. As the client advocate walked her to the consultation room, the client told her that she had come to Living Hope Women’s Centers last year for another pregnancy test - and it was positive. She went through our options counseling at that time but left still abortion minded. She stated “I went to an abortion clinic to set up an appointment; but, when I got there it had been closed for four months. I said ‘I hear you, God’ and now I have a 7 month old daughter. I can't imagine my life without her."
A child is alive who we thought was dead!
I imagine that you might sometimes feel tired, discouraged or ineffective. “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17, emphasis mine)
Eternal encouragement from God himself. It’s going to be alright.
PS: Remember to return your filled baby bottles to church on Sunday. We will announce the banner-winner in next Friday’s Life Report.
